In 2006 I hosted two "Inspire Scotland" events and I decided to implement this feature into the event. So on the Saturday eve of my first event (it was a two day event), I invited the audience to split into two scetions... those that wanted to play a FREE game, and those that wanted to invest 20GBP into a game. They didn't know, but basically the game was identical for both parties, except we put the 20pound donations directly into the charity kitty, so this group had already helped! I then gave them only until 9am the next morning to trade anything they wanted, as often as they wanted, starting out with a simple slip of paper given by me that explained to the first recipient what we were doing, and that 100% of the final gains were going to be auctioned the next day to our audience, and 100% of the proceeds were going to charity (obviously i added this feature in as part of my own creativity). And it worked really well... naturally some people didn't participate, and that was also discussed next day... I had all of those that did play the game, come onto the stage and have their 5mins of fame as they told their stories to the audience (I have it all on video too).
