Trade 3: One Photography/Videography Package

Where am I for this trade? Renaissance hotel in Heathrow, UK.

Thursday 20th January (2011) was the evening of my third trade in my Global Trading Game.

I’d been dropped off for a few hours to spend at the hotel bar. I had put out some ‘feelers’ on Facebook to my local UK friends to see if anyone wanted to catch up throughout the evening.

I was hungry, so sat at the bar and ordered a light meal of soup and then a small bowl of wedges with sour cream, along with a delicious glass of white wine.

There were two men from the US sitting next to me. Orion Goe and Jorge Rivera had travelled over from California, USA for a conference related to their work. It was held in Nottingham and now they were spending the night at the hotel as a short-stay-over before their flight the next day.

We got chatting and connected into deep discussion in a range of topics including: the Universal Laws of attraction…. and the power of Facebook. It was stimulating conversation to say the least, as I tried to convince Orion (who’s not currently a member on facebook) of the “leverage” benefits of Facebook. While busily discussing our topic, my friend Douglas Stenhouse arrived and surprised me with a tap on the shoulder. I was delighted, and a little shocked, as I wasn’t sure if he could make it.

He had travelled 3 hours drive from Manchester to see me!

Douglas and I first met in Portland, Oregon USA in August of 2008 at Steve Linder’s NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) event. Then we had met up again a few months later at the NLP Master-Practitioner event. (In Portland, Oregon USA). Apart from that, I had only a brief coffee and chat with him at an airport layover in Heathrow in September of 2009.

It was so great to see him again!

As we caught up on general chit-chat I also began sharing with him the concept of the Global Trading Game. His eyes lit up with the value of what I am up to.

“I want to play!” he says.

I’m instantly hit with the idea of what was unfolding in front of me.

I already had another trade on the table – to the value of US$6,000!!!

My issue was, I didn’t feel that the Sokule.com membership was of the best value to the person putting the offer on the table for a $6,000 membership package. While he could see the value in getting in on my Global Trading Game, as well as wanting to support me (bless him) I wanted to be sure that the integrity of “Win / Win / Win” was played full-out in the trades.

So when Dougie mentioned he wanted to trade with me it was perfect.

Dougie had just finished telling me he wanted to learn some more internet marketing skills (which is now part of the next trade for the $6,000 package) to help promote a photography training course he wants to create, and the person offering the $6,000 internet marketing package (next) needs some photographic and videographic footage (how bizarre that we had only just discussed this the day before!) done for both his online marketing business and his personal interest – his band (which is a #1 Coverband in the UK – more coming soon!)

I’m so excited!

It’s been a long (but fun) week in Kent, England for me since arriving on January 19th.

Now that my head is no longer spinning with jet-lag and I’m enjoying the wintery solace of being in the country-side of Kent, England I’ve decided to stay a little longer than originally planned.
